FAQ | Travel with Peace of Mind, LLC — Property & Animal Care

Question 1

What makes Travel with Peace of Mind different from a typical pet sitter or house sitter?

Accepted Answer

Most pet sitters stop by for 30-minute visits. I move in. As a 24/7 live-in caretaker, I am on your property around the clock — sleeping there, managing it, and caring for your animals exactly as you would. This is a fundamentally different level of service, designed for clients with horses, livestock, high-value properties, or animals that require continuous attention.

Question 2

Are you bonded and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I am fully bonded and carry comprehensive liability insurance for every engagement. I am also background certified, and my background check is available for review upon request. These are non-negotiable standards I hold myself to for every client.

Question 3

How long have you been doing this professionally?

Accepted Answer

I have been a professional pet sitter and animal caretaker for over 11 years, and I have been a member of Pet Sitters International (PSI) — one of the most respected associations in the industry — for that entire time. I am also a verified provider on Care.com. My background goes back further: I grew up as the daughter of an equine veterinarian in New York and Pennsylvania, so animals and property care have been part of my life since childhood.

Question 4

Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?

Accepted Answer

No — never. This is a personal standard I have held my entire life, not a policy I adopted for business. When I am on your property, you have my complete, undivided, clear-headed attention.

Question 5

Can you care for horses on a luxury Lexington, KY horse farm?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The Lexington, Kentucky Bluegrass region is horse country, and I am actively accepting new equine clients in the area. I was raised as the daughter of an equine veterinarian and have decades of hands-on experience with horses of all breeds and temperaments. Daily feeding, turnout, stall management, health monitoring, and coordination with your veterinarian and farrier are all part of what I do.

Question 6

What types of livestock can you care for?

Accepted Answer

I have experience with a wide range of farm animals including horses, donkeys, mules, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and other poultry. I also have a background in rare and endangered livestock breeds through 501(c)(3) nonprofit education work, and I have received Ag in the Classroom recognition for that work.

Question 7

What happens if one of my animals has a medical emergency while I am away?

Accepted Answer

I am trained to recognize signs of illness and distress, and I act quickly and calmly. I will contact your veterinarian immediately, follow their instructions, and keep you informed every step of the way — without requiring you to cut your trip short unless absolutely necessary. I have managed livestock emergencies for clients traveling abroad and handled them without incident.

Question 8

What does luxury estate or property caretaking include?

Accepted Answer

For high-end properties and estates, my service includes full-time live-in presence, security monitoring, vendor and contractor coordination, mail and package management, grounds oversight, pool and equipment checks, storm response, and emergency coordination. I treat your property with the same care and discretion I would give my own — and I understand that for discerning clients, the details matter.

Question 9

Do you serve the Lexington, Kentucky area for property caretaking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I am now actively accepting property caretaking clients in the Lexington, Kentucky area, including the surrounding Bluegrass horse farm region. I also serve Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Mid-Atlantic states including Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, and Florida.

Question 10

Can you manage a property for an extended period — months at a time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Extended engagements are a specialty. Many of my clients are seasonal residents, frequent travelers, or owners of second homes and farm properties who need a trusted, professional presence for weeks or months at a time. I am available for long-term live-in arrangements and can discuss your specific needs during a consultation.

Question 11

How do I hire you or get a quote?

Accepted Answer

The best first step is to reach out through my contact form or call me directly at (610) 209-2788. I will schedule a consultation to learn about your property, your animals, your schedule, and your expectations. Every engagement is tailored — I do not offer one-size-fits-all packages.

Question 12

Can I speak with references before hiring you?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — and I encourage it. I maintain a list of established clients who have agreed to speak directly with prospective clients on my behalf. These are real property owners, horse owners, and families who have trusted me with their most valued assets. I will connect you with them directly.

Question 13

Do you work with high-end or luxury clients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. My clientele includes owners of large estates, working horse farms, multi-acre rural properties, and high-value homes. Discretion, professionalism, and an exceptional standard of care are the foundation of every engagement. If you have high expectations, I am the right person for the job.
